TED Talks & Other Online Videos & Readings

TED Talks of Interest

The following links are to a selected few from among more than 1,500 free online talks given by noted thinkers, doers, inventors, artists across fields at the annual TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) conferences that are dedicated to promulgating "ideas worth spreading." The talks run 20 minutes or less, obliging the speakers to distill the essence of their often groundbreaking work and vision into mini-lectures that are usually multi-media-enhanced and recorded live. The ones I've linked here are particularly relevant to therapeutic issues. If you know of others that have impacted you, please do not hesitate to email me with the link, and I will watch and add it, with gratitude, to this list:

For articles on parenting, I highly recommend two sites that each have a fount of articles archived on virtually every topic of childrearing and adolescent-negotiating imaginable:

First, The Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley:

http://greatergood.berkeley.ed...
This center, and in particular its Raising Happiness blog by sociology professor Christine Carter, provides a rich array of searchable articles on parenting and childrearing as well as a broader range of topic areas, such as work and career, mind and body self-care, etc.

Second, Hand in Hand Parenting: Nurturing the Parent-Child Connection, founded by Patty Wipfler in Palo Alto, CA:
