Rates & Insurance

Rates
Please contact me to determine what your fee would be. I offer a sliding scale by which I try to take your own circumstances into account as best I can in terms of session fees, which also vary according to the session length that suits your situation best - 50 minutes, 75 minutes, or 90 minutes.
Insurance
I do not directly bill insurance at this time, but I can provide you with a 'superbill' (CMS-1500 form) for reimbursement from your insurance plan.

Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. If you are new to seeking therapy, please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • If so, do my benefits cover "out-of-network" providers?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Do I have a co-pay for each session?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?
You may already know that there is finally a mental health parity provision signed into federal law that means you should no longer be as constrained in the number of sessions that may be covered by your insurance as was the case in the past.

Reduced Fee
Reduced fee services are available.

Payment
Cash and check (payable to me) are accepted for payment at this time. I will update this page when I can offer credit card payment options as well.

Cancellation Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session. This policy is in effect to maximize my availability to provide services to all clients. With less than 24 hours' notice, reaching another client who is waiting for a session opening in time for them to arrange their schedule becomes impractical. So I hope you will understand that this policy is not punitive; it is for your and every client's benefit that you give 24 hour notice to be able to maximally access available session times.
When it's clear that a late cancellation was unavoidable, consideration will be given on a situation by situation basis. If, for example, you're sick and you're not sure 24 hours in advance if you will be well enough to come, it is better to give 24 hour notice and cancel. Then, if you recover, you can phone to see if I'm still available at your regularly scheduled time. But if you wake up sick on the day of a session, it is of course preferable for all concerned that you take care of yourself and cancel asap, and you will not be charged, which is true of other comparable unforseeable emergencies as well.
